International Art Summer

The International Art Summer is all about light! The course centre is located on the island of Hailuoto in the Gulf of Bothnia, near the city of Oulu. Experience the beautiful and unique scenery of Hailuoto and the special light that has inspired so many visual artists before you. During the camp you will be guided through the workshops by professional teachers in the distinct areas of drama and visual art.
The official language of the camp is English. You will meet new friends from all over the world, get to know other cultures, step in the world of arts and experience something unforgettable – this is an opportunity that you’d better not miss!
PARTICIPANTS
Finnish and foreign students, over age of 15.
TEACHING
Environment, place and time (KU2). During the camp there will be 3 major workshops for the participants to choose from. In the workshops we will study space, place and environment with different art methods, we will familiarize with the local built and natural environment, we will make environmental and spatial art and learn the basics of architecture and design. In the workshops we will use different techniques of drama, painting, photography, designing and building.
