SUMMER SCHOOL IN ENGLAND
Interested in learning English in an English environment? The English Summer Youth Exchange provides an excellent opportunity to learn English in authentic surroundings at the Durham University and get to know the British culture and lifestyle.
Groups of young people from England, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Finland, China and Russia will spend an exciting week together in the historic Durham city. The theme of the English Summer School is this year “Youth Solidarity” and it is dedicated to connecting young people across the globe.
Durham University, which is the third oldest university in England, provides an environment in which students are encouraged to achieve their best potential and enjoy socially.
Under 18 year old Finnish upper secondary school students
Language learning, workshops, organized activities in Durham City, trips to York, trip to Sunderland and South Shields Amusement Park. A wide range of sports and team building activities are available. In addition international, cultural and language activities will be provided. Each participant will be living in a single room and based in an ancient English castle-style Durham University Campus.
You will improve your English with native speakers in an international environment. You will also concentrate on conversation and communication skills. The English Summer Exchange includes interactive lessons, which are carried out in various methods. You’ll have great opportunities to use and improve your language skills!
NB: Upper secondary school student, please agree with your principal or subject teacher if the courses completed during the summer high school (oral language course ENA8) can be used as course compensation.

APPLYING FOR SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL
Fill in the application form by the 31st of March. Please send a short presentation of yourself, your hobbies and your interest in English language (written in English) by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If possible, a pre-meeting will be arranged for those accepted to the course. Further information about the pre-meeting will follow later on.
800 € (incl. group flight Helsinki–Durham, accommodation, full board, lessons, programme, field trips and group travel insurance).
